Galen Names Marketing & Communications Director
LOUISVILLE, Ky., July 6, 2011 - - - Galen College of Nursing has appointed Stephanie A. French as the director of communications and marketing, bringing more than 17 years of experience to the organization.
Most recently, French comes to Galen from RightSource, Humana’s home-delivery pharmacywhere she served as communications consultant in the Center for Consumer Messaging. Preceding Humana, she served as the executive director of communications and marketing for the Kentucky Blood Center (KBC) in Lexington, Ky. For nearly five years, French was the director of public relations for The Sullivan University System (Sullivan University, Specerian College and Louisville Technical Institute). Prior to joining Sullivan, French served as the regional communications manager and spokesperson for the American Red Cross Blood Services, covering a three-state service area. Early in her career, French worked for Jefferson Community College, WDRB and The Courier-Journal. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Jacksonville University, Fla., and is working on her master’s at University of Louisville. French volunteers for a variety of organizations including JCPS and the Red Cross. She has also been a member and/or board member of such organizations as Public Relations Society of America, International Association of Business Communicators and the Advertising Federation of Louisville.

Galen’s newly created position of director of communications and marketing will be responsible for overseeing internal and external communications, marketing strategy, advertising and media relations for all four campuses.
