Registered Nurse
Registered Nurses (RNs) assess patients, develop individualized plans of care, evaluate treatment outcomes and revise the patient’s plan of care as needed. As a vital member of the healthcare team, RNs collaborate with the patient, families, physicians and other healthcare professionals. They supervise LPNs/VNs and work under the supervision of physicians.
The U.S. Government Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that, on a national average, a Registered Nurse’s median salary is $31.99 per hour. The lowest 10% earn $21.14 per hour and those in the upper 10% earn more than $45.05 per hour. On an annual basis the median Registered Nurse salary is $66,530. The lowest 10% earn $43,970 per year while the upper 10% earn more than $93,700 per year. These salaries are calculated as a mean or average. (These pay ranges depend on geographic areas, healthcare institutions, duties, professional titles, etc.)
