Admission to Galen College of Nursing, San Antonio

Focused solely on nursing education for students who want to become Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs), Galen College of Nursing in San Antonio prepares students to become nurses with the expertise to provide direct care in a variety of settings.

As one of the largest private nursing schools in the U.S., Galen has the resources and support its students need to become high quality healthcare providers ready to enter the workforce as professional nurses. And when they graduate, they will be well prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

Here’s an outline of how to get started for your Nursing Degree:

  • Schedule an appointment to visit our campus. This can be easily done through our web chat feature, by contacting an admissions representative at 210.733.3056, or through our online get more information form.
  • During your visit you will get all the information you need, have your questions answered, and have the opportunity to tour our nursing education facilities.
  • Upon making a decision to apply to Galen, follow the steps outlined on our Admission to Galen page. These steps will also be thoroughly explained when you visit our nursing school campus.
  • Don’t wait to apply! Although Galen College of Nursing classes begin quarterly, classes fill quickly. It’s always a good idea to plan ahead and apply early.

Galen's San Antonio campus offers the following nursing programs:

  • Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree
    (Vocational Nurse Program + LVN-to-RN Bridge Program)
  • LVN-to-RN Bridge Program
    • Full-time days, 15-18 months
  • Vocational Nursing Program (LVN)
    • Full-time days, 12 months, or
    • Part-time evenings, 21 months

Galen College begins a new class four times each year. However, class sizes are small and classes do fill quickly so it’s always best to start the application process for Galen's nursing school admissions at your earliest convenience.

To be considered for acceptance into Galen’s San Antonio campus nursing degree programs, an applicant must meet:

  • General Admission Requirements
  • Additional Admission Requirements for the LVN-to-RN Bridge Program
